What are the benefits of volunteering?
New music doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It requires composers, performers and listeners to all come together and share a common experience. Volunteering for GroundSwell is a great way to enjoy music of our time and meet new people with similar musical interests in exchange for a few hours of time. Volunteers receive complimentary admission to GroundSwell events and develop skills that can be applied to other volunteer or paid positions in the future.
What jobs do the volunteers do?
Our volunteers assist in box office activities, sell tickets and merchandise, greet audience members, usher and assist in post-show cleanup.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes, our volunteers must be at least 18.
What skills do I need to volunteer?
We need commitment, reliability, energy and enthusiasm. We can teach you the rest.
What is the time commitment for volunteers?
GroundSwell typically programs 5 to 7 regular concerts in a season, as well as a number of outreach activities and special events. Each event runs roughly 2 to 3 hours, the number of events you would like to commitment to is up to you.
