“The quality of a work is measured by the degree of transcendence of matter, material and function.” E. Gaboury

Soul House enlivens architect Etienne Gaboury’s stunning Église du Précieux-Sang in a program connecting design, environment and memory. Gaboury was inspired by his own Métis culture when designing the tipi-shaped roof and floor plan, which encourages clockwise circulation.

This concert brings a small ensemble together with contemporary choreography to explore Soul House, Robert Honstein’s series of vignettes depicting his childhood home through tiny fragmented dramas; and Karen Sunabacka’s depiction of patterns on water.

In Dust, Belinda Reynolds remembers New York on 9/11, and we pay musical tribute to our musical ally and colleague, Cris Derksen.
