GroundSwell and WAG-Qaumajuq are thrilled to co-present North/South, a unique gallery concert featuring throat songs performed by Chasity Swan and Aleatra Sammurtok, as well as music for violas and percussion played by Melody McKiver, Jennifer Thiessen, and Ben Reimer. This concert features group improvisations as well as recent compositions by Jim Hiscott and Melody McKiver. Held in the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s Main Hall, the performance was immersed in by a curated selection of Inuit sculptures from the WAG-Qaumajuq collection and paintings by Winnipeg artist Wanda Koop.
