Join GroundSwell President Victoria Sparks in conversation with Jim Hiscott (composer, curator), Nikki Komaksiutiksak (throat singer), and Jennifer Thiessen (viola) as they discuss the fourth concert of GroundSwell’s 2024-25 season. Entitled “North/South”, this unique gallery concert interweaves musical and artistic cultures in an interdisciplinary dialogue. New throat songs by Nikki Komaksiutiksak and Caramello Swan, compositions by Jim Hiscott and Melody McKiver, and group improvisations will be presented among artworks from the Inuit Sanaugangit exhibition and paintings by Winnipeg artist Wanda Koop.
