WAG-Qaumajuq (Main Hall and Visible Vault)

GroundSwell and WAG-Qaumajuq are thrilled to co-present North/South, a unique gallery concert featuring throat songs by Nikki Komaksiutiksak and Caramello Swan, as well as music for violas and percussion played by Melody McKiverJennifer Thiessen and Ben Reimer. New collaborations/improvisations by Melody McKiver and Jennifer Thiessen, as well as group improvisations. Also, recent/new compositions by Melody McKiver, Jim Hiscott and more. The improvisations will be inspired by selected Inuit artworks from the Qaumajuq’s collection, on display in the Hall.

Come early at 6pm (before the concert) to view the spectacular collection of Inuit sculpture in Qaumajuq’s Visible Vault, as well as a curated selection of Inuit artwork in the Main Hall presented alongside Wanda Koop’s painted series, The View from Here.
